Exploring Philippines 77 - Marinduque (Post 12 - Black Saturday)

We spent our black Saturday at the abandoned pier in Boac. The sun was shining brightly and it was a good day for some beach activities.  As soon as the sun rises, there were already several individuals who were spending their Black Saturday at the beach.

The beach front where we were staying is not an ideal one for swimming due to its shallow waters.  The family of Tin brought us to the old pier of Boac where the beach proved to be a good one for swimming especially during summer time.

That morning, the sea was calm which made that moment an ideal time for swimming.  The water was almost still and it was crystal clear.  Everyone were delighted as soon as they jumped into the water and the kids had really the most fun than the rest of us.

After some time, we went to the concrete pavement of the pier and we spent an idle time fishing.  With the improvised hook, line, and sinker, we tried to lure the small fishes that stayed within the area.  Some kids joined us after a while and they, too, were excited every time our hook caught one.  With the given experience, memories of my childhood days came alive when we used to do the same thing way back then.

We stayed at the beach until mid afternoon.  It was one good experience spending this rare moment with the whole family that is not my own.  Somehow, it gave me the chance to know them better and I was glad that my being stranger to them was not a problem at all.
