Random Thought 135 - Monopoly

No one has the monopoly of everything including the happiness and sorrow.

There will come a time that we will experience being down and in trouble.  The reasons and circumstances will only be revealed the moment we will be in the state of laboring in our agony.  And during this time of suffering, a family or friend willing to lend a shoulder to cry on matters a lot.

When a family member or friend calls our immediate presence over a thing, it means his/her need is also immediate.  In this particular moment, our presence is all he/she needs.  Even if we don't have any powers to appease his/her agonies, we should be there even if we will only listen to the outburst of his/her emotions and ill-feelings.  Our mere presence is already a stronghold where he/she can lean on during his/her trying times.  If we learn how to make ourselves available to the people who are important to us, when our time of dire need will come, it is always a given fact that family and friends will also be there for us.

We don't have to monopolize the happiness that we feel.  We have to learn how to share it with others.  And  we should not contain inside us the troubles that we encounter.  We have to learn how to reach out to people whom we can trust and count on.  This life is not about the monopoly of anything but learning how to share and reaching out.
