Random Thought 108 - Time That Matters

Friends who share their precious time means so much that it adds life to a friend who feels like dying.

We might have taken for granted the time we used to spend with our friends.  Most of the time, we are thinking only of good times when we are with our friends.  We have to admit that it is more fun spending some time with good friends rather than with just our acquaintances.

When a disturbed and troubled friend would ask of our spare time, it may mean prolonging his life and unloading his burden as long as we are with him.  A friend in need of our time would not come to ask for our time if he feels like disturbing us and he can still manage his own affairs.  But the moment he'll come knocking at our door, that's the time when he needs us the most.

To some, maybe a time spent with a friend in need is just one of those occasions when you entertain a friend.  It could be meaningless. And when the meeting is over, it may slip out of their mind afterwards.  But for someone who is desperate with the precious time, it could mean his life.

At times, little did we know that when our friend would ask us for a simple request of our company, we recite our never ending excuses because we have other things in mind to attend to.  If we will not be oriented by the severity or urgency of the situation, our willingness to see a friend may not be there.

Time that matters could mean a life that matters.  I guess if we truly treat a friend as our own, regardless of his situation or need, to be there for him would be a greatest gesture a true friend can offer.
