We were exploring the pride of this place and one of them is the nearby waterfalls. In order to get there, we had to crisscross the river and rode bamboo rafts in order to reach the waterfalls. Crisscrossing the river by foot was a bit challenging because of the force of the river as well its depth which soaked our shorts. The bamboo rafts are situated in areas where the water is several meters deep enough to raise some concerns the moment they will capsize and us getting drowned. The only consolation was we had our vest to depend on.
The most challenging part, as far as I am concerned, was going against the rush of the water at a particular part of the river. With the force of the river and the amount of free flowing water, it was really hard to find your footing on the rocks underneath the water. The moment your foot is settled in a particular spot, you have to find your balance and fight the current before making another step. Each step must be calculated because one wrong move will make you stumble on the rocks below and the aftermath could be devastating. Aside from trying to find our balance and fighting the flow of the river, we had to be particular with our camera likewise. I guess the issue of getting wet and crawling on the rocks was already a given fact on that trip but minding a camera above all else made the trip more difficult. We practically took our sweet time and with the aid of our guide, we successfully hurdle the challenge.
The whole experience was fun. If we were not after for the pictures, most probably, the challenge of this adventure was not that much. But since we came here to enjoy and capture our prized moments, the trip was an extra challenge for us.
