Exploring Philippines 61 - Pandan, Antique (Post 4 - Bugang River)

And just like in the documentary film, the pristine water of Bugang River lives up to its reputation. In the deepest part of the lagoon, it is deep blue in color. In the shallow part, the grasses that grow can be seen in their greenest form and the river bed is very much visible to the naked eye.

As we retraced the path that leads back to Malumpati resort, we managed to stay idle especially to some parts of the river that give breath taking views.  I must say that even if it was high noon, the canopy of trees on the river and on the surrounding environment contributed a lot in providing life to the pictures I took. There are particular spots on the river that I really enjoyed spending some time. They felt like possessing and radiating with positive energies and it was so relaxing. If only my home is near to this place, I must say that I'll make this river as my own little piece of paradise.

How time flies when you're enjoying and having fun. I must admit that the time we spent that day was a bit too short maybe because our guide seemed to be in a hurry to go home and have his lunch. Though he don't want to leave us alone because we were his responsibility, I must say that we will not get lost because there are only a couple of paths and only one leads back to the resort. Secondly, he kept on telling us that the people on the area are friendly and no untoward incident had happened every time they had visitors to this place. Anyway, with the given limitations, we simply made most of what we had that time.

We stayed at the resort for some time while waiting for our ride back to the town proper. Since it was noon already, most of the visitors of the place gathered around their cottage and picnic tables to enjoy their lunch that day. Only few individuals were enjoying the cold waters of the resort that time. And just like the blue lagoon at the source of the river, the pool at the resort exhibits the same color and those who were brave enough to jump and dive told me that the deepest part could be at least 8-10 ft.

When our ride finally came, we requested the driver to take us back to the end of Bugang River. This time, we were in no hurry enjoying the scenery. After staying under the scorching heat of the sun by the sea shore taking some more pictures, we decided to call it a day and asked the driver to take us to the town proper where we can have a bus ride in going home.

Though we spent almost a whole day traveling and just a short time at the Philippines cleanest river, it was worth the experience. I am proud that I was able to experience what it's like to have a feel of paradise that every Filipino should be proud of.
