It is hard to stay neutral. Sometimes, you've got to take your side. There's no room for being a saint because the game of the jungle that you're in is survival.
When we are put to a test, actually our daily lives are tests, we tried to be rational at the onset. We try our very best to remain in the middle, see and evaluate different perspectives. We try to be objective and act accordingly with sound reasons. That is, if we a have some luxury of tolerance and the situation proved to be less threatening.
But the real test comes into the picture when everthing becomes a make or break thing. If this happens, you definitely have to take a side. And in most cases, it is always the side of self-preservation and survival.
Being neutral is a good thing. You don't invite much conflict with people around you. But being neutral also makes you less trusting because you cannot take a side when you are most needed.
