Moment 131 - Sleeping Bird

Maybe, many of us are wondering how do birds sleep.  Actually, they just close their eyes and sleep. Hehe

My niece brought home an injured bird from the farm.  She gave it to my nephew which in turn placed the bird inside a cage.  Since it was already late in the evening, the bird could not help itself but to sleep.

We intently watched the bird as it tried to sleep.  Since the inside of the cage is flat, the bird simply closed its eyes while standing.  For some time, we were hoping that it will eventually sit and sleep but it remained standing with its eyes closed.

We took the bird out from the cage and I let it stand on the finger of my nephew, mimicking the branch of a tree.  Its feet firmly cling into the finger, sat down, and dozed off.

Now we know how birds spend a night outside their nest.
