Food Trip 104 - Rambutan

I make it to a point to never miss this fruit once its season is at hand.

Most of the time, the taste of rambutan is always sweet.  Though there were some few occasions where I happened to experience some which lack some sweetness but never really sour.  And whenever I'll go for this fruit, I always choose those with vibrant colors because they are just ripe.  The moment the color of its skin turns to deep red, you can expect that it is already overripe and its meat automatically attaches to its seed.

I usually go for a kilo and enjoy this one as my dinner.  And yes, it is not heavy on the stomach and the following morning, I always have a good time sitting on my throne.
