Exploring Philippines 94 - Montalban, Rizal (Post 2 - Wawa Dam)

After three years, I came back to Wawa dam.  This time around, I was the guide of two of my friends who tagged along who also share the same passion as me.  Of the three of us, Jay was the most excited because it was his first out-of-town trip with his new camera.

Since it was August (2011), we were quite apprehensive about the weather because it tend to rain every now and then.  Actually, along the way, we experienced scattered drizzles and we were hoping that a good weather will side with us.

The moment we traced the path towards the dam, the houses along the way increased.  Likewise, the open side of the trail on the side of the mountain is now secured because of the steel fences.  With the presence of the fences, somehow, my reservations way back in 2008 when I was passing this same trail was now comforted.

After passing the steel blade bridge, the abundant water flowing from the dam greeted us.  Unlike in 2008 where the water was murky, this time around, the water was clear.

We found a path that leads directly to the lower ground towards the base of the dam. It would be a good experience for a quick splash with the rush of water at the dam but since it was August, the water level was high and the current was strong.  Instead, we just spent our time taking photos and doing some crazy stuff.  And we were happy because we had the place all by ourselves.
