Moment 121 - Foot Ambulance

In remote areas in the country, especially those that are isolated by rivers and mountains, people do not have any means of easy and fast access to medical assistance.  In most cases, foot ambulance is the immediate solution.

When I was young and still in the province, from time to time, I happened to see a person lying in a hammock being carried by several people.  The one in the hammock can either be dead or alive.  Since there is no other means to carry the patient coming from the mountains, foot ambulance is the only means.

With my recent encounter with a foot ambulance, it is a sad reality that for the longest time now, those who are living in remote areas are neglected even with a decent road or bridge for easy access to basic medical services.  And in cases like this one, the people are holding only to their faith that everything will turn out right the moment they reach the nearest clinic or hospital.
