Poem 65 - Anghel

Isang sulyap ko lang
Sa maamo niyang mukha
Ako ay nabighani
At agad napatulala.

Hindi ako makapaniwala
Sa anyong nakita
Sadyang kay ganda
At napakatalinhaga.

Animo'y isang panaginip
Ang aking nasaksihan
Isang magandang nilalang
Ang nasa aking harapan.

Parang bumabang anghel
Na nababalot ng hiwaga
Napakasarap titigan
Kaayaaya niyang mukha.

Hindi ko magawang
Ibaling ang aking paningin
Dahil natatakot akong
Sya'y maglaho sa hangin.

Sadyang di magkamayaw
Ang saya ng aking puso
Nais ko siyang kausapin
Upang pangalan ay matanto.

Subalit nanaig ang kaba
At sobrang nakakahiya
Ako'y nagkasya na lang
Na titigan ang kanyang mukha.

Sa bawat sulyap ko
Ay pilit na ipinipinta
Para hindi siya mawala
Sa aking memorya.

At dumating ang sandali
Na nagtama ang aming paningin
Ngunit siya'y paalis na
Di ko alam ang aking gagawin.

Hinabol ko siya
Ng tinging nakakalungkot
Sana'y nakilala ko siya
Kung di umiral ang aking takot.

At sa aking pag-uwi
Tangan ko ang larawan niya

Moment 65 - Fisherman

In one of my out of town sorties, I practically waited for the setting of the sun and the embrace of darkness. Since there was no moon that time, the fisher folks would rush to the sea the moment darkness covers the land and the sea. With their lamp as the source of light in the dark waters, the fishes tend to gather near the light which gives the fishermen the opportunity to cast their net and enjoy the bounty of the sea.

I was hoping that time that there would be plenty of fishermen rushing to the sea that early evening. Since it was a season of bounty, they need not go that far from the shore to cast their net. Actually, it only took a group of them around 30 minutes to cast their net and afterwards, they began pulling the net for their catch.

I was anticipating that a good number of boats would be out to the sea that time and it would be one great moment to capture the lighted sea. Since the situation fell short from my expectations, I only content myself to the scene at hand. I guess I had to spend more early evening to that place in order to witness a spectacle of lights coming from the boats in the open sea.

Random Thought 65 - Best Moment

Sometimes, one of those best moments are the quiet moments in your life. A quiet moment spent alone or with a loved one is generally priceless. It is the kind of moment where you can hear your own thoughts and that of your partner, feel every beat of your heart, let alone those worries and problems, and finding your own self and be at peace with.

A world in a standstill is such a prized moment especially if we are used in our busy existence.At times we forget to value this kind of moment due to the demand of our work or in chasing our dreams.

Learn to spend a quiet moment and hopefully, maybe, you'll get a chance to see what your life is all about and how do you spend it.

Food Trip 64 - Crunchy Pork Belly

One time, I was invited by my new found extended family for a food trip. They planned to try Mercato at the Bonifacio Global City. Mercato is a night market for food lovers which opens from 8pm to 6am every Saturdays and Sundays. And even if it is far from my place, I said yes without blinking an eye. Actually, ever since it was featured in television, I am hopeful that I'll be able to experience it one day. And with the given chance, it was an experience that I look forward too that night.

Since I was the first one to arrive, I took the opportunity to scout the place. The whole place was filled with people who made their rounds likewise trying to find out their kind of food. There were plenty of stuff to choose from and the experience made my mouth water.

Only few of the food stalls offer some free taste and then there was one that caught my attention, Karlo's kitchen.  I got intrigued about their offering which was crunchy pork belly and since they offered a free taste, I gave in. I tell you, it was something they can brag about. It was really crunchy and the taste was somewhat different from the traditional deep fried pork stuff. And I told myself that I'll taste that food that night.

When my colleagues finally came, they were likewise excited and they could not made up their mind what food to order. When they asked me what I wanted to eat, without hesitation, I openly declared the crunchy pork belly. And they love it too except for the price.

Exploring Philippines 64 - Angeles, Pampanga (Post 3 - Angeles City)

After the unsuccessful attempt for the hot air balloon ride, we roam around and tried our luck with the kiosks within the area. One particular stall caught our attention because of the long queue of visitors and it happened to be selling hot air balloon lanterns. Since we were not able to experience a hot air balloon ride, Cha opted to buy a hot air balloon lantern as a souvenir item.

Since we already start to feel the heat of the sun and we agreed to call it a day, Cris brought us to Angeles city for our lunch and for some sight seeing activities. It was almost 11 when Cris brought us to Luring's barbecue place, one of his hang out place when we was still working in this city. 

It is one of my habit to try new stuff whenever I am out of town. Though I don't have that much stomach with food beyond my comfort zone, from time to time, I tried to be brave just to find out if my stomach is up to it. This time, I ordered a fried quail. This was my first time to taste a quail though in my younger years, fried and grilled birds were part of my growing up years. The taste of fried quail made me reminisce those good old days.

After our lunch, we head to the nearby church in the town proper. Since we planned to visit the Candaba swamp, we only stayed for a short time and we were not able to fully explore the whole town of Angeles.
