Moment 47 - Planking Ayo

I have known Ayo for a long period of time already. When he bought his own camera, whenever the both of us are free, we'd go some places and take pictures.

Lately, he surprised me with his planking moves. It's not that he'll make a stunt out of it but he has now the guts to do his stuff in unlikely places, even with strangers around. The Ayo I've known before was a bit shy and reluctant in doing "odd" things. But nowadays, my oh my, he will even volunteer to do this stuff much to my surprise.

Well, as long as we don't hurt someone else, we can make fun of ourselves and enjoy the things that make us happy. Way to go, Ayo!

Random Thought 47 - Euphemism

There is nothing wrong when you freely speak up your mind. What matter is your delivery and your choice of proper words.

We interact with different types of people everyday. We mingle and associate with our family, friends, acquaintances, and even strangers. During the course of our interaction, we share our thoughts, experiences, stories, views, jokes, and even our laughter.

When we freely speak up our mind during the course of our interaction, I hope we don't listen to ourselves alone. Being cautious and sensitive towards others gives a strong signal that beneath our intellect, we practice some kind of self-restraint and courtesy. Being frank and direct is okay but it could lead us to certain troubles or worst, people will tend to avoid us.

The way we deliver ourselves and the way we deliver our thoughts makes a big difference. Ill-mannered and rude people only care for themselves alone. The moment they let their tongue do the talking, they think they are the only righteous person in the room. The moment they look at the other person as a lesser being, the more they go wild and they no longer hear their uncouth tongues.

It is sad to hear about such people especially when they become your boss. They expect you to be respectful to them at all times but they don't actually know the term "respect" when their rage becomes uncontrollable. And the worst of it all, as if they have the absolute freedom and power to insult and curse you from head to toe.

I am praying that one day, they will come across the word "euphemism." I hope one day, despite of their own celebrated victory, they will have a sense of "respect" when they address people as if they are addressing themselves in front of the mirror. I hope that with every word they utter will make other people respect them as a person and not as their boss inside their office only.

But such kind of people who only hear themselves are already engulfed in their own self-righteousness. It would take a miracle for them to actually listen to their own selves especially if they are enjoying a certain position in an organization. Their post becomes their cloak with whatever will gratify them. But, their immunity is not absolute. Time will come that they will have a dose of their own medicine.

Food Trip 46 - Pineapple Juice

We all know that pineapple juice is a good source of vitamin C which helps boost our immune system. During the rainy season and the cold months where we experience colds, aside from drinking 8 to 10 glasses of water a day, pineapple juice can help us maintain a clean respiratory system. Likewise, with the changing of the season, this drink has a healing property to reduce fever.

If you are watching your diet, pineapple juice may add fiber to your diet and aids you in maintaining a healthy digestive system.
Let's drink to a healthy life.

Exploring Philippines 46 - Coron, Palawan (Post 2 - Arrival)

The moment we were nearing the port of Coron, the view of Mt. Tapyas from a distance greeted us. From what I saw, Mt Tapyas is the highest point within the town's vicinity.

After we got off from the ship, we were picked up by the owner of the Coron village lodge at the port and we were brought directly to the lodge where we will be staying for the next three days.

After settling our things in a common room, we had to change our clothes because our tour will begin right away. Breakfast call was exciting because I was expecting something "local" about the food. It turned out okay but not the one I was hoping for. Actually, I had several things in mind about the food that will be served that morning. But it seems where ever you go around the country, the national breakfast (if you may consider it) is tapsilog. Yeah, right. They served us tapa, sinangag, itlog plus danggit. Except for the danggit, eating tapsilog this time of day was like not leaving home at all. The only great consolation was the ambiance of the place and the fresh air of Coron.

It was almost 9am when we left the lodge and head straight to lambingan bridge. Lambingan bridge is the docking area of boats and our ride was waiting there. It seemed that the owner of the lodge who managed our itinerary was somewhat not good at all because it seemed that the negotiation of our ride took place that very moment. Anyway, after an hour of wasted time, we finally took off to our first island adventure.

Poem 46 - December Evening

The breeze feels cold
This one December evening
I've been longing for your hold
One that's worth remembering.

As I step outside
I can't help but to shiver
I wish you're by my side
And we'll share the heat together.

I terribly miss you
This cold month of December
I wish I am with you
Sharing this last piece of ember.

The stars shine tonight
And the sky is perfectly clear
I miss when you hold me tight
Brushing aside the cold December air.

December evening is a lonely plight
No warmth can ever keep me still
Even if you are out of my sight
I love you and I'll always will.
